After two days of hunting down addresses with all the accuracy of Jack Sparrows compass, we finally found the only Olympus distributor in all of Egypt. They could only repair my lens by sending it to Bahrain which would take a month. When I asked about buying a replacement it turned out I already owned three out of all four Olympus lenses in Egypt and the only one they had was no good for me. I may have more luck when we get to Jordan. Until then the only way I can take a wide angle shot is to use my phone or take lots of frames and stitch them together when I get home. Fortunately I have a prime lens which has focal length in the middle of the one that is broken so as long as I can get far enough away its not a problem. In a city however the furthest you can go is often the other side of the street. As a result I have a lot of pictures of buildings which fill the frame like this one of the newspaper building in Cairo.
